PLAYER CONTRACTS (FA Period)
Players signing with a new team
- The contract can be for up to 6 years
- A player can receive a raise each year of up to 10% of the value of the first year of the contract
- The maximum value of the first year of the contract is the smaller of either the amount of cap space a team has and the maximum salary a player can receive based on his experience in the league.
Player signing with his previous team (with less than Bird Years)
- The contract can be for up to 6 years
- A player can receive a raise each year of up to 10% of the value of the first year of the contract
- The player can receive the larger of either the teams cap space (up to the max salary for that player) or 120% of his previous salary
Player signing with his previous team (with 3 or more Bird Years)
- The contract can be for up to 7 years
- A player can receive a raise each year of up to 12.5% of the value of the first year of the contract
- The player can receive the larger or either his maximum salary based on his experience or 120% of his previous salary
Teams over the Salary Cap may also offer a player either of their exceptions
- Mid-Level Exception ($4,500,000)
- Low-Level Exception ($1,200,000)
- One year deals only
Bird Years
- The number of seasons a player has gone without changing teams via Free Agency
- When a player is traded, he maintains his Bird Years

How To Submit Bids
- During the FA Period bids are submitted to the Commish by PM (on the boards) with the subject line reading something like “Celtics FA Bids – Day 1”
- You must include the players first and last name, the number of years the deal is for, the percent raise each year, and the amount of the 1st year of the contract.
- If you are offering a player the minimum (minimum allowed based on experience for one year) you only need to put the players first and last name and “minimum”.
- If you are offering a player the maximum (maximum salary and length based on salary rules) you only need to put the players first and last name and “maximum”
- Bids are saved in the sim so you don’t need to repost the same bids, they automatically go to the next day.
