Here’s how you earn GM Points which you can use to buy rewards.  The system used in NBSL is designed to make the league more active by rewarding active GM’s, even if they don’t have a very good team.

GM ACTIVITY REWARDS

LINEUP SUBMISSION

Helps to see who are the active GM’s and who checks the site on a regular basis.  Lineup submission points are tallied at the end of the year and only correct lineups are counted.

ARTICLES

Just your basic article about your team.  Make a big trade, team over-achieving...let the league know about it.  Points based on length and quality.

15-50

FEATURED ARTICLE

Write an article that is updated at least bi-weekly.  You could do an article on recent trades and give trade grades, a player spotlight article, etc.  Less points if article is submitted more than 2 weeks from previous article.

50

“BIG” ARTICLE

Write a big article.  Suggestions are: Midseason Report Cards, Draft Preview, Draft Grades, etc.  A free reward will be given to well written, lengthy “big” articles, points will given to sub-par “big articles not quite up to Free Reward quality.

Occasionally I may post a message on the board asking for a logo, rookie preview, etc.  The amount of points rewarded will vary based on what is asked and will be posted along with the request.

Every 50 posts will get you 50 points.  It’s not a point per post, you need to get 50 before you can cash in.

Have a player on your team receive Regular Season MVP honors.

Here’s how you can spend your hard earned GM Points.  Each player can receive only one of each reward per season.

BIG MAN CAMP

Send a big man away to Big Man Camp and he’ll gain 3 points in the following categories: Inside Scoring, Shot Blocking, Post Defense.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH

Hire a personal strength and conditioning coach  for one of your players and he will gain 3 points in the following categories: Jumping, Strength, Quickness.

 PERIMETER DEFENDERS CAMP

Send a player away to Defenders Camp and he will gain 3 points in the following categories:  Perimeter Defense, Driving Defense, Stealing

REBOUNDING SCHOOL

Send a player to be taught the ways of rebounding and he will increase 4 points in the following categories: Defensive Rebounding, Offensive Rebounding.

PERIMETER SHOOTING SPECIALIST

Hire a perimeter shooting specialist to work with one of your players to increase his stats 4 points in the following categories: Jump Shot, 3 Point Shooting

Send your point guard to camp and his stats will increase 4 points in the following categories:  Handling, Passing

The head coach gives special attention to one of your players, helping him increase his potential by 4 points.

Hire a scouting expert to give you the actual potential of one of your players.  The players actual potential will be PMed to the GM.

Hire a specialist to help one of your players either bulk up or slim down by changing their diet.  This can increase or decrease a players weight by 10lbs.

TOP MEDICAL STAFF

Hire a top-notch medical staff to help a player heal more quickly.  The staff will get the chosen player back into the lineup in half the time of the current injury.

PLAYER CONTRACT REWARDS

TEAM OPTION CONTRACTS

One of your players has a contract with a team option on the last year.  You can either add a year to the players contract with a 10% pay increase, or you can take a year off of a players contract.

CONTRACT RENEGOTIATION

You can renegotiate a players contract taking off 10% of the total contract and distributing the remaining amount among the remaining years.

One of your players enjoys playing in your city so much that they decide to make it their hometown.

TAKE ONE FOR THE TEAM

One of your players decides to take one for the team and lower his contract expectations for the better good of the team.  His Greed rating is reduced by 10 points.

The fans and front office have treated a player so well that they become more loyal.  Loyalty rating increases by 10 points.

A player either becomes used to losing or used to winning.  His Play for Winner rating can either be increased or decreased by 10 points.
